InkDrop is a hybrid blog/portfolio/business theme. Everything from the Obox Themes OCMX Gallery functionality, to multiple page templates and different home page layouts have been thrown into this theme.
Design Inspiration
We wanted this theme to feel as if you are looking at a proper Magazine WordPress theme. I think it is worth pointing out that all the inspiration for this theme came from magazines.
We recently bought a book which has a massive collection of award winning magazine designs. The amount of inspiration in this book is just amazing so we thought “Why look anywhere else? It’s all here.”
A lot of attention was paid to the 960 Grid layout, we ended up using both the 12 column and 16 column grids depending on the page.
Three different home page layout options
This theme will feature the most page templates ever included in an Obox theme.
There are three different home page layouts all designed to serve different purposes. We intend this theme to cover all the bases:
Unique InkDrop layout
Number 1 on that list will enable you to include your latest posts, a gallery slider, a post slider and post list.
Standard blog layout
With all of our new themes we have decided to include a standard blog layout as an optional extra. The reason for this is they you may like the theme but don’t want to use it for its intended purpose and instead want to just use it as a blog.
A simple business layout
This theme is perse enough that the home page can be used for blogging, a portfolio or for business. With this in mind we have given the home page widgets the capability to simplify your home page so that you can setup a simple business style home page.
